Early settlers, farmers, and suffragists; American Gas Machine Company and Wilsons Company; tornadoes and flooding; celebrities; and, military: Civil War to Vietnam. These are the stories told at the History Center of Freeborn County. The museum has more than 25,000  artifacts related to the history of Freeborn County. We use these collections items in exhibits, programs, events, and make them available to researchers. If you are interested in donating an artifact to HCFC, please visit the Donate page.

Using the Objects Collection

The objects collection, like the archival collection, is available for research. If interested in using the object collections for research, please contact the Curator of Collections and Exhibits, collections@fchmmn.org. A scheduled appointment is required. All efforts will be made to make the collection item available for research, however all artifacts are not currently available for research.
